What We Do

At the Jimboomba & Districts Cadets we have a strong focus on self-discipline, leadership, and character development. The personal skills we attempt to impart in our cadets include motivation and attention-to-detail, participating as a member of a team, respecting authority and developing a willingness to challenge themselves.

Our Unit is a community-funded YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. Our program is not affiliated in any way with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) or the ADF Cadet Scheme. Participation in our program will not assist in the selection process undertaken by ADF applicants nor will the training and activities provided to our cadet participants be taken into account by the ADF during such selection process.

We are a Not-for-Profit (NFP) community organisation for boys and girls aged between 7 and 17 years. The Unit's ethos is based on a military environment with similar values and discipline requirements. As a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to providing a safe and harmonious learning culture we make sure that having fun is at the core of our activities and training for children.

Our program of activities helps to build self-esteem and confidence, while allowing the kids to enjoy themselves with everything we do. We devote a lot of effort encouraging and growing the potential of all children without favour whilst promoting the benefits of service within the broader community we live in.

Our Unit is a mix of ex-Australian Defence Force veterans and dedicated volunteers. All of whom volunteer their time, experience and generous efforts to mentor and develop the kids in our program.
